Scarborough's reading rope is a vaulable visual to understand how aspects of phonological awareness, decoding, site word recognition all work in tandum to for a reader to become proficient and fluent. My course How to Teach Reading and Spelling explicitly teaches critical thinking skills for students to be able to strong fluent reader in order to have rich word recognition and language comprehension.
